| After the success of last year's X-MAS story JAM where each page was drawn by a different artist (be it penciled, inked or colored) - I'd like to announce that we're thinking of doing another one! At the moment the story is still under wraps - in discussion with me and the Co-Editors - so more on that later ---however in order to see if both existing members of NOVA PRIME, NOVA 619 CONTRIBUTORS -and VISITORS - yes I mean you who come and have a look around ----would like to consider taking part....then I'd like to hear from you! At the moment - all you need to do is the following: If you'd like to take part in this potential project - subject to confirmation - and do just 1 page - then all you need to do for now is post a message to the Group and mark it NOVA 619 ART JAM 2012! In the message - make sure to state whether you want to do pencils - or inks - or colors - or if you're a dab hand at doing 2 or more - I don't mind! And make sure you leave your icon so we can PM you when we're set to go. The closing date will be end of June 2012 - that's June 30th! As this will be a "separate story" from the regular Nova619 arcs - this will be a "side-project" but will still form part of the NOVA619verse. So dates/times for schedules, etc for this project will be posted to all those who opt to sign up. Contacts will be made once the story has been worked out with details - the project overseen by me and the rest of the Co-Editors. As with Nova619 - this is a free, no paid project but it gives both regular members, contributors and especially new members who may not wish to contribute on a reg basis a chance to take part in this project and add their bit to the Nova619verse! | ROCKET BOOSTERS 2 ARRIVES AT NOVA PRIME PAGE! Hi All! If you want to drop by to the Nova Prime Page website, Rocket Boosters 2 is now online to download as a PDF. This is a big 116 page free zine which celebrates Nova's 35th Anniversary next year produced by my good friend Doug Smith who runs NPP for 12 years. It contains contributions from Marvel writers and artists who have worked on Nova comics over the last 35 years - with exclusive material! RB2 also features a lot of fan stuff and as you'll expect Nova619 gets a big mention with an exclusive article I wrote on the web-comic. Accompanying that is some art from members as well as Israel's Cosmic Joke short story. It also features a article on the Worldmind and Xandar which was written by some guy in Blighty. There's so much material is hard to say where to start but its a real eye-opener if you want to delve into Nova's rich (pun not intended) past and also see how much appreciation fans have for the Human Rocket. My favorite articles are the comic strip - This is Your Life, the Rich Rider interview, the as seen un-revealed plans for an aborted Nova mini-series by Eric Larsen from the 90's and a aborted Nova Corps mini that has a lot to do with Nova619! | The aim of THE NOVA 619 project is two-fold: The production of a WEBCOMIC featuring a variant of the Marvel character Nova -to include new original characters and ideas - and secondly to act as a way to help participating artists and writers improve their skills in pencils, inks, colors, etc and to work together as a team in a creative manner. The comic features here at Nova Prime DA and online also at Cosmic Book News and Nova Prime Page. The project is non-profit making - there are no wages, fees, etc - everyone involved is doing it for fun - teamwork and to improve skills in their respective fields - contributing pending on their own available free time and commitments. The comic is not endorsed by Marvel Comics - purely as a fan-produced comic in similar capacity as fan fiction or any similar fan produced products on fan-orientated websites. The Project is open to writers, pencilers, inkers (digital or traditional), colorists and letterers with emphases on amateur/fan artists/creative’s. Plots for the series are in process - however additional ideas, etc are extremely welcome for future stories as long as they fit into Nova 619 concepts. With ref to artists - I welcome creative collaboration for sequentials, etc. All regular participants will be upgraded from Member status to Contributor status. In all stories produced, full credit will be given -and additionally there are no restrictions to use any art tied to the Nova 619 project for personal portfolios/ DA galleries, etc - this includes any collaborations that I do with any participating artists - as long as due credit is given. For new/ already participating artists - to take into account non-project commitments (daily life, school, the universe and everything!) it’s vital to make sure you let know what you’re able to commit. All stories are envisioned to be 22 pages - done in blocks. One/more artists can participate together on any given story/part (for example the first arc has currently 3 pencillers, inkers, etc). For ease - its suggested that “teams” contact together via e.mail first, and secondly via the Group/ DA Note system. Art guidelines: Art to be as hi-res as possible - pages at the CBN site will be A4 (210 X 297) however art can be drawn up to A3 (420 X 297) or at any preferred medium. If artists are working in teams - to send hi-res art at their own discretion to other team members or can be submitted to me/ at the Group to be transferred for inks/colours/ etc. -however if file sizes are large recommend use of transferbigfiles.com which is a free site to send large files. Files types are either jpeg, tiff, preferable. Final pages submitted at CBN will be PDF for ease of downloading. Art can be submitted to this group, artists own galleries, etc with links/credit given as/when applicable. To ensure that a near-bi monthly release of material is done - blocks for stories are done in maximum of 6/11 pages For writers - plots have been drafted - however new stories and ideas can be submitted as long as they fit into the Nova 619 format. For PENCILERS - If you have pages ready to be INKED - place your pages in the PAGES FOR INKING folder! INKERS can then collect the art from this folder! FOR COLORISTS - When INKERS have finished their bit ---please post pages to be COLORED in the PAGES FOR COLORING folder! Colorists can then collect art from this folder!
